Over twenty-five years of institutional investing, I’ve developed deep and complementary skills across a wide range of activities (hence the “pentathlete” reference). Direct investing in public equity markets has informed my career spent assessing investment managers and building global, multi-asset class portfolios. As a complement to this more technical skill set, I have a high EQ and good communications skills. Having invested from “both side of the table” as a buy-side investor and an allocator, I have a balanced understanding of investment decision-making. As part of the inaugural team at the UCSF investment office, I helped build an investment team and process from scratch and re-built a ~$2 billion portfolio as it grew.Outside of work, I am a life-long competitive rower with multiple national masters championships, which has developed both my leadership skills and a team orientation. I currently serve on two non-profit Investment Committees and as a member of the Penn Rowing Board.
Listed skills include Portfolio Management, Hedge Funds, Equities, Asset Allocation, and 17 others.
