- Design aspects of hydroelectric turbines to reduce environmental footprint.

- Designed ejectors for thermally driven heat pumps using a detailed computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model to simulate performance.- Commissioned, operated and maintained a world class test bench used for the verification of results obtained by the CFD model.- Successfully predicted the performance of several different ejectors using the CFD model and validated the results on the experimental test bench.- Identified potential applications where ejectors would provide significant energy and cost savings in HVAC and industrial systems.- Wrote numerous technical reports and scientific articles for publication at conferences and in technical journals.- Provided expertise on ejectors to numerous colleagues and external agencies requesting information on the technology.

- Successfully managed a study that demonstrated the benefits of using slurries of microencapsulated phase-change materials (MCPCM) suspended in distilled water as a means of enhancing the heat transfer in vertical pipes.- Developed a CFD code for the prediction of the performance of such MCPCM slurries that incorporated the experimentally measured thermophysical properties of the slurry.- Designed, built, tested and operated numerous apparatus used to measure the variation of the effective thermophysical properties of the slurry with changes in temperature and developed correlations that were used in the CFD model.- Developed an experimental test bench used to measure the enhancements in heat transfer occurring when using MCPCM slurries as the heat transfer fluid in mixed convective flows.- Supervised an exchange student who worked on the study of heat transfer with and without semi-transparent, cylindrical radiation shields.

- Designed permanent magnet, DC motors for automotive engine cooling applications- Demonstrated teamwork and flexibility in coordinating activities with the electrical design team, process and manufacturing engineering, quality and sales teams.- Wrote product validation reports that were circulated to internal and client engineers and managers
