I am the retired chairman and chief executive officer of Fluor Corporation, one of the world’s leading and largest engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance services companies. I became CEO and joined Fluor’s board of directors in February 2011, and was elected to the role of chairman of the board in February 2012. I have held numerous global positions in both operations and sales globally since joining the company in 1985.Active in a variety of professional and business organizations, I currently serve on the board of directors of The Mosaic Company (NYSE: MOS) and ConocoPhillips (NYSE: COP) and am the past chairman of the National Association of Manufactures' Board of Directors. I have served in leadership positions of numerous business associations, including the Business Roundtable, the International Business Council, the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council. In 2011, I was appointed by the US Secretary of Energy to serve as a member of the National Petroleum Council.In addition to many business organizations, I am active in national philanthropic efforts and serve in leadership positions for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and United Way of Greater Dallas. I am currently the chairman of the National Board of Governors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. I also have led fundraising campaigns, including the $1 billion Carolina's Promise for the University of South Carolina, and the annual campaign of the United Way of Greater Dallas.I hold a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and received an honorary doctoral degree in 2014. I've also completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School of Business.
