As Principal Data Scientist, I spearheaded the end-to-end development and integration of machine learning solutions for maritime hazard assessment models. My role involved leveraging diverse data sources, from in-situ measurements to satellite and meteorological data, applying a range of AI algorithms including self-organizing maps, decision trees, computer vision, and deep learning networks. In collaboration with the CEO, I effectively communicated complex results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and worked closely with the VP on revenue-driving proposals, particularly leveraging SBIRs. As a research and development engineer, I worked collaboratively on a team of senior scientists implementing advanced analytics and artificial intelligence/machine learning for system identification, optimal scheduling policies using multi-objective optimization, resource allocation, and parameter estimation of complex mechanical systems to extract multi-scale dynamics. I developed energy efficient path planners for UUVs using grid based and bio-inspired methods which are currently deployed on US Navy UUVs. I secured and captured funding through external sources and formed two CRADAs with different Universities capturing work that led to 3 journal papers on nonlinear dynamics and reduced order models.
