• Review and/or implement the high standards of health & safety practices related to explosives and drill & blast engineering. • Participating through active involvement with production personnel to the Drill and Blast planning and scheduling in accordance with the mine plan. • Provide technical advice by identifying opportunities for improving productivity and reducing cost. • To observe and enforce both Mining and Explosives regulation. • Operate in line with objectives as set forth by the senior leadership team in engineering and provide clear work objectives and expectations to the drill & blast team of the performance levels required to achieve business plans and production goals. • Ensure the necessary manpower and equipment are in place to achieve planned production, while meeting planned costs. • Ensure that training is provided according to the current and future requirements of the mine. • Cultivate and maintain a high performance culture.
