• For this startup business I led the development of the Consert product suite, an IoT SaaS demand response solution that included real-time communicating, measurable, verifiable load control enabling home automation and load shed for electric utilities. • Utilized agile development processes our Java based client server SaaS solution was built upon IBM Websphere, DB2, and MQ pub/sub. • Directed our hardware engineering team in designing and manufacturing smart home devices (thermostats, radios, load controllers, gateways).• Responsible for contract manufacturing including test manufacturing, managing third party OEM vendors (thermostats, load control switches, Zigbee modules) as well as relationships with cellular network providers.• Developed and commercially launched four major products - Power Center: An enterprise multi-tenant SaaS Java / DB2 solution scaled to manage over 100,000 smart devices for home automation and dispatch of demand response. - Consert Gateway: This AMI Smart Energy Gateway supported 3G cellular, Zigbee SEP 1.1, and a AMR9 core hosting embedded Linux to provide real time meter reading and load management control. - Zigbee Load Control Switch: Provided energy measurement and control of residential loads via Zigbee mesh - Home Energy Manager Mobile App: iOS and Android based mobile application to enable customers to manage their smart home devices directly from their mobile phone.• The successful execution of the pilot projects led to a multi-million USD load management contract with the City of San Antonio.
