From 2008 to 2016, I worked on funding for Third Level Access (TLA) funding programmes (the Student Assistance Fund and the Fund for Students with Disabilities). From 2011 onwards, I have been involved in the operation of the Springboard+ programme. These programmes are all co-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF)The following are duties common to all areas of my work:Financial Management:• Agreeing annual expenditure profiles with and drawing down Springboard and TLA funding from the Department of Education & Skills (DES). • Processing of payments under all programmes; maintaining detailed records of payments under the funds for reconciliation, audit and reporting purposes. Data Management and Analysis• Use of participant data to determine grant payments to HEI’s under the Third Level Access Programmes and to public and private providers of Springboard+ education and training courses• Use of databases and advanced Excel features to generate financial reports and statistical reports on beneficiaries for a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.Stakeholder Relations• Developing and maintaining excellent working relationship with the various stakeholders in the TLA and Springboard+ funding programmes. The stakeholders include Finance officer/managers and access/disability personnel in the HEIs, ETBs and UK colleges; public and private/not for profit providers of Springboard+ training programmes; the Department of Education & Skills on whose behalf the HEA manages the Springboard+ and Third Level Access funding programmes.

• Analysis/Audit of external trade data• Preparation of statistical tables for monthly and quarterly publication• Proof reading of statistical tables and accompanying textual commentary• Assisting with Trade Section help-desk in answering phone/email queries• Use of SAS to generate ad-hoc statistical reports in response to queries from external stakeholders

One year working in banking and finance at entry level in order to gain experience to progress to full time clerical/administration work. Placements in Ulster Bank, Irish Life and Permanent TSB. Left to take up full-time permanent position in the Central Statistics Office (Dublin). In this period I was alo placed in a temporary accounts receivable/credit control role in Enterprise Ireland.
