My career started with over 20 years’ in banking before diversifying into other areas of financial services. This combined experience means that I now have a particular depth and breadth of knowledge which is quite unusual for people in this industry.I’m very proud to say that this brings a certain credibility when liaising with Actuaries, Auditors, Investment Managers and other business professionals. But of course the greatest benefit is in the quality of service I am able to bring to my customers. It isn’t easy to sum-up 30 years’ experience in financial services, but I believe some of my particular strengths are:► Extensive experience in Defined Benefits and Defined Contributions Pension Schemes.► Preparing and analysing complex data to support applications to the PPF and FAS.► Undertaking manual and automated benefit calculations in accordance with legal entitlements.► Wide knowledge of the investments markets gained through working with IFAs.► Preparing draft Pension Scheme Accounts prior to audit.Whilst it is important to have a good range of skills and experience, it is how you apply that knowledge which is crucial. Whether my work is to support customers, members of my team or the wider business, my focus is always to provide the highest level of service by:► Using my customer service skills, developed throughout my 30 year career.► Demonstrating an eye for detail and leaving no stone unturned.► Knowing where to find the information they need.► Explaining things clearly and simply, avoiding using technical jargon. They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Well, I beg to differ. My philosophy is that there is always something new to be learned and have proved this by achieving further professional qualifications in my previous 2 jobs. I fully intend to keep on my path of learning and continue to use these skills to help my customers and those I work with.
