I'm currently working to help clients polish and perfect their own written work, writing copy for publications as well as marketing and communications, and generally mucking around on some of my own pet projects in my spare time.

Working autonomously in pairs or a small team to monitor turtle activity and respond to occurrences reported directly over a hotline by members of the public. Normal duties included patrolling beaches, recording both qualitative and quantitative data when encountering turtles such as size and injuries, restraining and tagging adult turtles, finding and marking turtle nests, relocating nests in dangerous or unsuitable areas, excavating hatched nests and rescuing both disorientated hatchlings and adult turtles. This work mostly happened at night, sometimes in dangerous areas and/or with large amount of members of the public observing. This created enormous pressure as spending too much time on one job resulted in missed sightings or delayed response times. This was exaggerated when members of the public became distressed or contentious about what we were doing and needed to be reassured, without the situation getting out of hand or taking a unreasonable amount of time.

Bowness On Windermere

Being solely responsible for the running and maintenance of a small pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, indoor squash and badminton courts, bar and gym while simultaneously working on reception. This included being a lifeguard, running tests on the water quality, being responsible for the cleanliness of the facilities, general maintenance and backwashing and being responsible for selling memberships, ordering stock, cashing the till in both the reception and bar as well as general bar work, as well replying to enquiries from prospective clients about the facilities and the adjoining spa treatment facilities and taking bookings for both if necessary.
