About David Skelton

With over three decades of experience, I have served as CFO of PE-backed healthcare companies with billion-dollar sponsors since 2002. The companies ranged up to $800 million in revenue and 250+ locations, spanning multiple healthcare sectors, including dialysis, ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), in-vitro fertilization (IVF), tech-enabled medication therapy management (MTM), specialty pharmacy, labs, behavioral health, physician practice management (PPM), and specialty dental.Prior to Leon Healthcare Partners, I served as CFO for Specialized Dental (US Endo), where we quadrupled revenue to $400 million+ and completed a major equity recap with a multi-billion-dollar sponsor in 2.5 years. I also served as CFO of SurgCenter Development with 100+ surgery centers in 20+ states, which later sold for ~$4.5 billion. As CFO of National Renal Alliance (NRA), we grew from inception to over $100 million in revenues with 45 dialysis clinics in 10 states and completed a successful $160 million+ exit. Having established four PE-backed companies, I have assisted companies with special projects, interim management/consulting, performance improvement, M&A due diligence, valuation, and integration, modeling/forecasting, strategy, supply procurement, business intelligence reporting, capital structuring, debt/equity raises, and exit preparation/execution. In addition to my CFO roles, I was a healthcare investment banker, a commercial lender, and a Senior Director for a global consulting firm.I have built companies from inception to successful exit, while driving value through denovo’s and acquisitions with physician joint ventures (JV's), financial operations, and revenue cycle intelligence/optimization. I co-founded a tech-enabled revenue cycle management (RCM) company that created a machine-learning software, which found, prioritized, and collected millions in underpaid healthcare insurance claims. I hold an Economics degree (magna cum laude) and an MBA (top 5%) from Vanderbilt with concentrations in accounting and finance, where I scored in the top 2% nationally on the GMAT and was named the Wigginton Memorial Scholar in finance. However, due to 20+ new denovo center commitments during 2017 and the time needed for them to mature, SCD decided not to pursue a liquidity event and discontinued our project, but has continued to utilize key elements of the plan.
