MVI Systems, also known as My Video Intercom manufactures hardware and software for a two-way video intercom and access control system for multi-unit real estate, residential and commercial. The product uses a WPF kiosk style touch screen application that serves as the intercom which can call out to companion mobile apps on Android, iOS, Windows desktop, or to a regular telephone line. The user can answer with one way or two-way video conversion with the person at the intercom and control opening the door. The product is currently deployed to high profile residential apartment buildings in NY and NJ. Both iPhone and Android Apps (MVI myKey) enjoy above 4-star ratings. As the initial technology hire, and head of technology, my role was to build a team using consultants and full-time employees both on and offshore, select technologies and vendors, and to design the initial architecture. Performed coding, and code reviews for Python and C#, acted as project manager for a family of seven products, managing a team of up to 15 developers and QA personnel. The technologies used include AWS, Linux, Python Flask, MySQL, C# WPF, C# Xamarin native for Android and iOS. Web-RTC libraries for the video intercom component, Twilio for the SIP client, and Amazon Rekognition for the facial recognition capability. Rav Kav Kiosk: A C++ based kiosk application with a card reader for the Israeli rav kav card. In the first phase it will read the user's card and display information about the user's balance and how many rides they have left on which lines. This information is provided upon boarding the bus or train, but many people want to know ahead of time what is on their card. In later versions the plan is to show advertisements and to allow for card replenishment purchase from the app.
