Worked as the technical services manager over all of our FTTH markets across the country. My responsibilities are centered around finding and researching emerging technologies that could help our company perform day to day work in a more efficient and accurate manner. Working to diversify the services offered by Icon Engineering Inc. by utilizing my previous Telecom experiences in conjunction with the cutting edge tools being developed every day. Working to discover, research and implement the newest tools in Make Ready Engineering, GIS based network mapping and Pole Loading Analysis for both telecom and power utilities. Currently managing field data collection of utility poles using the IkeGPS Ike4 in a large scale FTTH deployment.

Worked as an OSP Installation Inspector on a large FTTH Network deployment. Responsibilities include real-time and final inspection acceptance for Power Make Ready, Aerial and Underground installation. Inspect aerial installation of load supporting strand, fiber optic cable, lashing and splicing enclosures. Inspect underground installation of conduit, fiber optical cable, vaults, manholes and splice enclosures. Inspect power make ready work in order to comply with all applicable parties standards and practices for cable installation in the communications zone on utility poles.

Sold Network July 2024: Built a brand new ISP from the ground, up! Trying to bring better options to those living in the more rural parts of the North Georgia mountains.

Worked as an ISP Engineer on the design and deployment of the Nevada Hospital Association State-wide Health Information Exchange. Responsibilities include design, engineering and implementation of the Alcatel-Lucent MPLS platform consisting of a single 10G backbone with 1G point to point services configuration. Focus has been on the Alcatel-Lucent 7750 and 7210 series routers and switches. Design, bid and inspect POP site civil work including but not limited to structural modification, flooring, HVAC, electrical, and iron work. Design and bid shelters, generators, ISP installation material, DC power plants and batteries. Engineered all splice points and diagrams using Microsoft Visio and supervised splicers during implementation as well as OTDR test and accept all fiber optic cable. Install all ISP electronics, materials and hardware including AC and DC power systems. Commission and test all fiber optic MPLS backbone and customer circuits for final acceptance.

Worked as an Engineer I on the design and deployment of fiber optic networks in Evansville, Indiana. Responsible for design, pre-construction engineering, provisioning, commissioning and troubleshooting the network. My main focus has been with cellular backhaul deployments for Verizon Wireless and a minor in School Systems. I have put a lot of my time into working with and understanding the equipment associated with this kind of turn-up. The Cisco 7600 series and Cisco ME3400 series make up the primary equipment used in these types of deployment. Testing our network focuses more on “bookending” JDSU A6000’s and Accedian Ethernids across the network. Some other systems and equipment I am familiar with include the Cisco 15454 series, Transmode node series, DWDM and CWDM with a heavy focus on Ethernet services.

Worked as an engineer on the deployment of a Smart Grid - BPL (Broadband over Power line) network in the Boulder, CO Market. Responsible for design validation, pre-construction engineering and network deployment. Assisted the Engineering Manager in analyzing and modifying network designs to optimize network performance. Also created network maps for use in pre-deployment validation. Once network deployment began I was responsible for supervising installation teams and served as a technical resource for installation personnel.

Worked as a distribution apprentice lineman on Utility Smart Grid – BPL (Broadband Over Power Line) network in Dallas, Texas. I was working with a Field Engineer on the installation and troubleshooting side of the network in medium and high voltage (120v – 14,400v) situations. Worked with Gary Hancq analyzing and modifying network designs to optimize network performance. Gained more experience operating a 55' bucket truck, 35' bucket truck, volt-meter and various fiber- optic testing equipment. Traveled on several power restoration services for hurricanes or ice storm work all over the south east.
