I have spent the last 35 years building a strong aviation related background including Maintenance, Management, Contract Specifications, Budgeting and International Travel/Relations. My 30 years with Gulfstream Aerospace as a Senior Field Service Representative, 14 in the international arena, introduced me to the very intimate areas involved with the management of personnel as well as aircraft. As a contract administrator with Gulfstream in my early career gave me insight into the completion process from specification writing to change orders to finalization and delivery of the finished product. Now as the owner of a Part 141 flight school with 11 wholly-owned aircraft, 12 certified flight instructors, 4 office personnel, and 3 mechanics in our stand alone maintenance facility, I have a total understanding of the daily operational requirements of a very active flight department. While I do maintain over-sight of the operation I have learned that delegating power to key, like-minded managers allows the school to function with little conflict and creates a comfortable and safe work environment.
