I am now retired and no longer interested in pursing employment opportunities in informatics. My extensive background working in the healthcare industry to streamline and create technical processes has provided me the ability to develop and integrate effective software systems combined with knowledge artifacts. I have extensive experience in medical informatics and structured terminologies including SNOMED, CT, LOINC, and RxNorm. I was certified as a SNOMED CT Consultant Terminologist in 2017. Much of my experience has been in using multiple software tools and programming languages to produce bodies of project-specific content related to standard biomedical terminologies. (Such activities are often affectionately referred to as "data wrangling.") I particularly enjoy the process of “coming up to speed” on technologies that I have not used before and then applying them to interesting projects in the health informatics domain. I consider myself to be a well-rounded professional in understanding many aspects of utilizing data to improve health services for patients.A few selected skills and achievements throughout my career include: • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the additional ability to streamline information in an easy to understand manner for all levels of the organization• Significant project management experience with strong analytical and independent problem-solving expertise; background in working as an effective member of a strategic team as well as independent guided projects. • Capacity to thrive in environments that require a sharp attention to detail while identifying challenges that would impact the overall quality of project.I currently function as a consultant for Apelon on a project-by-project basis. I am always "on the lookout" for interesting projects. I look forward to connecting with you in the future.
