COO for start up Quantitative Strategies Hedge Fund

• COO for a multi-strategy hedge fund and CLO/CDO group that at its peak had over $5 billion in hedge fund assets across six different funds and $5 billion in structured product vehicles. Responsibilities included, day-to-day operating and business management, strategic initiatives including platform design and implementation. Directly managed all middle /back office/technology functional areas including counterparty risk, fund valuation, fund accounting and NAV delivery, investor reporting, system architecture, application development and technical infrastructure. Responsible for a staff of up to 40 professionals.

• Originated and advised numerous global clients concentrating on strategic technology and operations platforms architecture as well as financial and business strategies. Personally responsible for envisioning and succeeding in building out a retail brokerage consulting practice.

Developed and managed global treasury platform and function for expanding investment bank. Integrated New York and London offices creating financing, cash management and operating efficiencies. Implemented advanced treasury trade capture and accounting system. Integrated treasury platform with firm G/L system. Working with senior executives through out the firm, designed and built the firm’s overall capital adequacy and allocation model for all businesses. Model integrated position and risk data encompassing the entire investment bank including trading, investment banking, merchant banking, correspondent clearing and retail brokerage businesses. Outcome of project resulted in $30 MM in firm savings due to correction of poor transfer pricing mechanism. Leveraged capital model through development of an application that also served as firm’s operating Liquidity Model. Managed liquidity risk on a day-to-day as well as strategic basis. Responsible for the issuing and trading of holding company debt book including medium and long term debt ($2 Billion) as well as the implementation and issuance of a commercial paper program ($300 MM).
