I am a long-time composer, university professor and worship curator. I have taught on music, the arts, worship, and leadership in North America, Europe and Asia. Described as an inspiring speaker and charismatic leader, I have a particular passion for mentoring emerging leaders.I am Professor of Music in the School of the Arts, Media + Culture (SAMC) at Trinity Western University in Langley BC, Canada, where I was also Dean of SAMC for 15 years. I hold a B.Mus. (Hons. Performance) from Western University in London, a M.Mus. (Composition) from University of Toronto, and a Ph.D. (Composition) from State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo.Celtic spirituality has been a deep influence on me, and I have twice spent time on the island of Iona in Scotland’s Inner Hebrides, whose Celtic Christian roots go back to the sixth century.Travel is both a personal and professional passion, and as an educator I've led several fine arts study tours to prominent centres in Europe, for a variety of ages from students to older adults.I have more than 3 decades experience leading workshops and seminars on a wide range of topics from music to worship to leadership - connect with me if you would like to learn more: david.squires@twu.ca ...or... david@davidsquires.caAnd check out my compositions at davidsquires.ca
