I currently serve as the Director of the Air Force Dental Corps and Chief of the Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) Recruitment & Force Sustainment Division at the Office of the Surgeon General in Falls Church, Virginia. In these roles, I formulate policies and oversee execution of force sustainment programs for the Medical Service, to include recruitment, retention, special pays, health professions scholarships and promotion opportunities, to provide a medical force with the appropriate skills, experience and rank structure. I also coordinate policy and support for executive decisions with the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (ASD/HA), the Air Force Surgeon General (AF/SG), Air Forces Major Commands, the Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC) and the Air Force Recruiting Service (AFRS). As Director of the Dental Corps and Dental Officer Career Field Manager, I oversee force development and professional development opportunities for over 1000 dental officers. I am responsible for establishment, job qualifications and duty progression of all dental officers’ positions in the Dental Service, to include command/leadership, academic and clinical assignments. In addition, I am the Consultant to the Air Force Surgeon General for Dental Technology Integration. In this role I provide functional expertise for development, implementation and ongoing support for the AF Dental Service Information Management & Information Technology portfolio, affecting over 200 AF dental treatment facilities for the Active Duty, Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard at all worldwide locations.

I provide funding and operational management for Air Force medical research and development as well as strategic discovery and initial analysis of innovative concepts, tracking initiatives and translating them upon maturation to tactical Air Force Medical Service requirements. I lead a staff of 37 and direct $37M R&D, $12M O&M and $46M Defense Medical Research Development Program funding. Cultivating novel solutions, I interact with DoD, government and academia, identifying and exploring innovative concepts, new processes and disruptive technologies that have the potential to dramatically transform Air Force Medicine. As the Air Force Surgeon General's consultant in Dental Technology Integration, I guide the introduction and deployment of technology in the Air Force Dental Service as well as provide functional expertise and oversight for the development, implementation and ongoing support of the global Air Force digital dental radiology network. I am also the senior dental subject matter expert at the Air Force Medical Support Agency.
