Senior Training Officer - Intelligence
CurrentDavid has adopted a proactive approach to his role and always seeks new challenges to make a positive impact for the people he works alongside. Currently he is working as a Senior Training Officer of Intelligence helping to create and deliver contemporary and evidence-based intelligence training to QCS Intelligence staff across the state. Prior to this Davids focus was in the tactical response field of QCS and finished his time as the Deputy Commander of the Tactical Response Group based at the Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre. He also had the opportunity to work as a senior training officer specialising in tactical skills and weapons training. This included the research and development, then delivering state-wide training packages for situational awareness, communicating with influence and tactical options such as subject control, less-than-lethal weapons, chemical agents and firearms. His passion in this training role is in creating, updating and then delivering courses using evidence-based principles to create self-efficacy, competence, ethical and professional conduct in handling crisis situations for staff. This also includes qualification training and ongoing skills development for use of force instructors state-wide.Previously he was a member of his agencies Emergency Response Group from 2012 - 2018. He also has experience working in the Maximum Security Unit, the Intelligence section as intelligence analyst and advisor at both the local and state level.
