About David Stark, Phd

Most of my professional work life revolves around participating in the life of the city that I love-- Hamilton, OH. For one, I'm the Property Manager of live/work 42-unit apartment building for artists and their families called Artspace Hamilton Lofts. I am the Founding Executive Director of The Strauss Gallery and Gift Shop. In this role, I work with many of the region's finest artists to curate and market exhibits and arts-related events and programs. I am a member of Hamilton's 17 Strong Advisory Board & Chair of the Communications Committee. I served as the Co-Chair of the City of Hamilton's most recent Charter Review Commission. I am interested in real-estate, small business development, property management, retail, the arts, and events coordination. I am a published writer and former All-State and All-American Academic Scholar-Athlete (basketball). In my free-time I enjoy golf, disc golf, basketball, hiking, movies, and supporting the local arts and culture scene.

    The Strauss Gallery and Gift Shop is an art gallery, artisan gift shop and event space in the center of downtown Hamilton, OH. We offer art exhibitions (with opening day/night and closing day/night events), workshops, concerts, poetry slams and other arts related events. Believing that art changes lives and should be accessible by all, each our public events are free to attend. We also host neighborhood and community meetings. Our space -- which includes a moveable stage, overhead projector, high quality sound system, 60 chairs, 10 tables, a kitchenette with two fridges, a backstage area, two restrooms, and a liason -- is available for rentals, such weddings, parties, corporate events, achievement ceremonies, etc. We also have up to fifty artisan vendors in the Strauss Gift Shop.
