Twenty-seven years in recycled asphalt and soil stabilization. Using cement, emulsion and a variety of materials to stabilize. Responsible for business development in the Mid Atlantic (DE, MD, NC, VA) both in the private sector and state’s Department of Transportation. Close working relationship with Southeast Cement Promotion Association, American Reclaiming and Recycling Association, Virginia Department of Transportation, North Carolina Department of Transportation, Maryland Department of Transportation, Virginia Asphalt Associations, Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance, American Public Works, Associated General Contractor of Virginia, Richmond Area Municipal Contractors, Eastern Federal Lands, Virginia Aviation Department and North Carolina Aviation Department. In the last year, I have had the privilege to work in the logistics world. Working with contractors and brokers to create efficiency and transparency in truck hauling to help contractors manage trucking. Projects;-Blue Ridge Parkway - This project took 10 years to develop with the Eastern Federal Lands Federal Park Service. The project consisted of 60 lane miles of road from Afton Mountain south on the parkway. The design of the project was 8 inches of Full Depth Reclamation with 4% cement for the entire 60 lane miles. -I 81 first project in Virginia to utilize Full Depth Reclaiming, Cold Centeral Plant and Cold In Place Recycling. 12 years later the project is considerd a perpetual pavement. -I-64 from Williamsburg VA to Hampton Roads. A project that took about 5 years. I was part of a team from VDOT Research Council, Engineering Consulting Services, that designed the soil stabilization with cement and “synthetic” Full Depth Reclamation (FDR). The first time VDOT used Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) and the existing subgrade to make the FDR layer. The project was over 70 lane miles of road. -The first test at the National Center for Asphalt Technology with Full Depth Reclamation with cement. Study was successful in showing that full depth reclamation is a perpetual pavement.-Worked with VDOT, to develop specifications for future projects in the public and private sector. -Assisting VDOT with state wide specification on Full Depth Reclamation -Worked with the Virginia Research Council on recycling methods with cement, lime kiln dust and emulsion-Delivering the new generaiton of Full Depth Reclaiming in North Carolina and Virginia, called "Paver Laid FDR" and "Paver Laid Cement Treated Aggrigate"
