A true end-to-end career journey, starting out as a Kitchen Porter for Ye Olde White Harte Hamble within the first fortnight, moving to Front of House as Barman. Following a successful 12 month post as Barman, the opportunity to step up into the General Manager role arose, enabling me to ensure that the company message, history and reputation for excellence was not only maintained, but given an opportunity to grow significantly in terms of turnover, footfall and to further the reputation of the establishment.The approach employed was to assess the business model utilised and update it to accelerate the various income streams. To achieve this I introduced a high level of customer service along with a new and exciting gastro-style food menu, maximising on food sales. During this time we moved from approximately 35 covers per day, increasing to in-excess of a significant 270 covers per day. To achieve this meant reviewing the business assets and ensuring the team were up-skilled and/or recruiting where needed.This experience educated me on how to make an impression in the hospitality industry. With an extremely keen eye for detail, and an industry challenged by other companies offering low quality service, meant going the extra mile to ensure that food was delivered fresh, the customer always got what they ordered, the service was outstanding and the overall experience highly satisfying. This strategy ensured a reliable, regular customer base, and accelerated the reputation of Ye Olde White Harte. Show less
