I am a Senior Software Developer, specializing in the Microsoft stack of technologies. I've been doing professional .Net software development for 20 years, both as an employee and as a contractor.As an employee I've typically been responsible for overseeing the maintenance and extensions of multiple in-production projects, simultaneously. As a contractor, I've typically been hired on a "project basis," whereby I'm kept on-board until the given project has advanced to an agreed-upon point.My work has included multi-tier projects, where I have worked on each tier, MVC-based projects, where I'm responsible for virtually everything, and Windows-based (desktop) projects. Most of these projects are written in C#, with a few older ones in VB.Net. I am equally-versatile in these languages. Additionally, almost all of my work has included a significant Database component, which for my Clients so far has almost always been Microsoft SQL Server. I have written seemingly countless lines of T-SQL code, along with many database layers of C# code and EF Core projects which access the database using LINQ. Although I am not a certified DBA, I can do with a database almost anything I can imagine. I am, in-effect, a "Developer-DBA."It's no secret that the programming world is advancing and morphing continuously, with new technologies rising and falling within a few years, then to be replaced by another "upshot," with the previous technology demoted to "legacy status" by Microsoft and others. Part of my ongoing "self-education" is to conquer these technologies before I start a new project which uses them. If I were not effective at doing this I would not have lasted this long in this industry. What this means for the next project for which I do *not* yet have that skill under my belt is that I just need an opportunity to actually *do* that kind of work, and with such, I'll make the magic happen on my own time and my own dime so as hit the ground running on that project. I welcome anyone to try me on this, as I'm confident I can make it happen. This is the way I've been rolling since I first got into programming.The vast majority of my clients have loved my work. I make a point of giving each project 100%-plus of my attention, with the understanding that nothing is "forever." I know there will be a "last day" for each project, and I do what I deem necessary *today* such that if-or-when the last day for that project arrives, as I'm walking out the door, I'll see *flowers* being thrown at my feet, not darts.
