I manage a team of 4 analysts whose role is to support the various distribution groups at American Century by providing value-add analysis, research and support in relation to the firm's strategies and by understanding how American Century compares to its competitor strategies. Much of our time is spent researching and understanding how American Century products differ from competitor strategies. In particular, we seek to understand differences in risk-adjusted returns, holding-based characteristics, sources of active risks, and drivers of excess returns. These deep dive analyses help us to better understand American Century's competitive advantages relative to peers, identify complementary strategies, solidify product positioning for marketing purposes, and to gain a better understanding of investor preferences. Our services are also utilized in terms of new product development. While we focus on a wide range of products and asset types, my areas of focus are currently international equity products, and liquid alternatives.

My primary responsibilities were to support both the Private Equity Officer and the Real Estate Officer as they managed the Plan's private market allocations. In this role, I also worked closely with the Plan's external private equity and real estate consultants in monitoring the performance of existing investments. In addition, my responsibilities included assisting the Investment Officers in the sourcing, due diligence, and legal review of new private market investments. My responsibilities included giving presentations to the Plan's Investment Committee to either introduce new investment opportunities, or to help educate the committee on new investment categories. As part of these educational responsibilities, I also played a significant role in leading the Plan's initial foray into Real Assets beyond traditional real estate with by sourcing, conducting due diligence, and assisting with the legal requirements for the Plans's first investments in both infrastructure and timber.

As a Public Markets Investment Analyst, my primary role was to monitor the Red Cross's domestic and international equity managers within its defined benefit and endowment plans. In addition, my responsibilities included producing detailed investment reports for each Plan's respective Investment Committee's; produced reports on the Plan's private market positions; assist in the due diligence of existing and new potential investment managers; and work closely with Plan's custodian and other vendors.
