I am a procurement Officer at St. Peters' Orthopedic and Surgical Centre. Here, I keep tabs of inventory, maintain a healthy stock levels due to the critical nature of most of the items, maintain a competitive supplier base and help in contract negotiation for the new building we are currently putting up.

I have been, from time to time, engaged supplementally by the Us Embassy and the Department of Diplomatic Security, Antiterrorism Assistance.

My duties included; Keeping records of milk procured at the cooling plants, updating all procurement details on SAP system, variances handling, coordinating transport of milk from cooling plants to the processing plant, recruitment of new suppliers, reconciliation of all the milk procured, preparing suppliers payroll, preparing supply statements, receiving suppliers calls and solving issues when required and coordinating all procurement processes in the various plants.

From processing emergency orders to having to plan for future events with precision as to the exact quantities to be purchased, my time at Pinecone helped sharpen my planning skills and my ability to handle pressure and beat deadlines. In addition, I was able to keep an up-to-date record of all the inventory, organize the stores and quite often I stepped up and handled other duties, driving the procurement team to the field to make purchases and the housekeeping department when they had to move various items.

I was an intern at the Central Nyanza regional office during the election period of 2017. At the time, the organization was a hive of activity, I managed to come up with a more efficient filling system to enhance easy tracking of useful documents, I was also able to diligently draft a tender document in accordance with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act 0f 2015 which was later used in the tendering process. In addition to that, I was tasked with, among other duties, the evaluation and prequalification of suppliers for various items, a task which I was able to perform impeccably. From time to time, I was stationed in the warehouses to supervise loading and unloading of items by casual employees, monitoring the movement of inventory, keeping track of their working hours and remunerating them accordingly.
