Mr. Suess supports individual facility’s efforts to meet ongoing state and federal air quality monitoring and compliance requirements related to programs that include Title V, Acid Rain Program, Clean Air Interstate Rule (CAIR), NOx RACT, New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) and National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP). He has assisted facilities through transitional periods (e.g. new environmental/operational personnel and/or newly promulgated state/federal air quality regulations) and provides a source of regulatory expertise and guidance to all of his clients. He has developed and presented CEMS training programs for environmental managers, operational staff and instrument technicians at numerous facilities. Mr. Suess has performed in depth Data Acquisition and Handling System (DAHS) compliance and efficiency software audits and evaluates DAHS systems regularly. He has also assisted with developing and updating in depth CEMS Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plans and CEMS Monitoring Plans. He currently assists numerous facilities in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas and Hawaii with their CEMS related state and federal air compliance reporting requirements.Mr. Suess completed his Ph.D. in 2002 working with on-line single particle mass spectrometry and other particle measurement techniques studying tropospheric particles and exhaust emissions from coal combustion, biomass burning, diesel trucks and automobiles. After determining mass spectral fingerprints from these combustion sources he performed an initial combustion source apportionment effort from ambient aerosol time-of-flight mass spectrometry (ATOFMS) data he and others acquired at various EPA Supersite locations across the United States.
