I have been fortunate in my career to have gained a wide ranging experience in many aspects of employment. I began my career training as a 1st & 2nd fixing carpenter/joiner and worked in the construction industry for close to 15 years. I enjoyed the multitude of challenges faced with the ever-changing environment of the construction industry and the teamwork required to beneficially complete work for the company and the customer. This experience gave me a thorough metric of what is expected by the stakeholders involved in a project and began working as an independent contractor responsible for supply of product, planning/scheduling, ensuring quality, completion of work, finances and dealing with technical or customer issues that arose.I worked in the service industry managing a busy bar/restaurant/night-club having had previous experience. Developing a genuine rapport with staff and customers, ensuring viable and measurable customer repeatability through quality service and providing an atmosphere of welcome was essential. The organisational skills and hard work ethic I had previously developed in my career permitted me to lead a staff of 20+ workers committed to ensuring the business was both profitable and an enjoyable place of work for 4+ years.Though I enjoyed working in the service industry and take pride in what I achieved, I felt that I had more to offer and decided to further my education. I was always fascinated by science and in particular physics and wished to combine that with the hands-on and organisational skills I had gained and so Mechanical Engineering was an obvious fit leading me to enrol in Limerick Institute of Technology in 2013. I achieved first class honours in every year acquiring a level 7 degree with distinction and I have just achieved a 1.1 B.Sc. in Process Management & Engineering finishing in May 2017. Currently I am working as a Design Engineer for 4 Site Engineering Solutions.
