CurrentAs a Health and Safety Inspector, I ensure that dutyholders comply with health and safety legislation through proactive inspections and incident investigation. Whilst working for HSE I undertook a number of roles:2011 – Present, Hazardous Industries Division.As a Regulatory Inspector in HSE's Hazardous Industries Division, I inspect high hazard sites in the Petrochem industry that fall under the COMAH Regulations, including large national and international companies. I ensure they have robust risk control systems to control their Major Hazard Risks. My role includes making proactive inspections and audits of Safety Management Systems, Emergency Response arrangements and Human Factors. My role also involves assessing how cultural and organizational factors impact on safety, including the management of organizational change2014-15 Construction DivisionWorking as construction inspector In central London. Proactive Inspection of sites ranging from house renovations to city office blocks being constructed by the largest principal contractors. Several investigations including Prosecution of a large electrical contractor.2005 – 2011, Field Operations Division (FOD); InspectorI was responsible for assessing and securing compliance with health and safety legislation in an extremely diverse range of industry sectors, including hospitals, waste management, general manufacturing, public services, engineering workshops, motor vehicle repair, gas safety etc, gaining a working knowledge of safety standards across most industry sectors. As an inspector, I have to make justified and proportionate enforcement decisions and have a proven enforcement and performance record. I plan and prioritise my own work in a dynamic environment with constantly changing and competing goals. Whilst working for HSE, I have worked in a number of high pressure situations, including being the lead HSE investigator in fatal incidents.
