A Houston native, I attended college at the University of St. Thomas, receiving a bachelor's of science in Biochemistry. I held leadership positions all five years while attending, focusing on school retention, student development, student affairs, core curriculum reforms, allocation of student fees for projects and events, mentorship, and outreach programs for the community. I also was involved in molecular and chemical research regarding molecular dynamics and ferrofluidics, respectively. In my first senior year in 2011, I was accepted into Baylor's 'SMART' Program, through which I got involved in oncology research.After graduating in 2012, I continued my research in oncology and transferred to the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy at Texas Children's Hospital. There I help to determine whether patient's manipulated cells meet release criteria for infusion and therapy. Also, I perform many basic and advanced molecular, genetic, cell culture, viral, bacterial, and murine experiments to bring promising therapies to clinical trials. Although I participate and help with work regarding lymphoma, ALL, ACL, and lung cancer, my primary focus is in pediatric and adult glioblastoma. My work is currently in the pre-clinical stage.
