As a building inspector I’m in charge of quality assurance from early stage of the build to final handover of the projects. The inspections includes pre pour, concrete Slab, frame, pre plaster, fixing & waterproofing, final. We also carry out general and maintenance inspections.

- I was responsible for the building management, including maintenance and repairs for Box Hill Institute of TAFE. Within this role I fostered strong relationships with the client, building users (across 4 sites) and with key subcontractors. The relationships I developed, combined with my organisation and communication skills resulted in planned maintenance and refurbishment projects.- My regular inspections and skill-base saved the company circa $80,000 annually, as I was able to carry out repairs using my wealth of trade skills including: carpentry, plastering, painting and plumbing.- In my role as the Site Maintenance Supervisor, I embedded best practice Quality Assurance frameworks and OH&S practices across all projects. I continuously ensured the best practices to protect health and safety within a construction environment through regular OHS inspections and open conversation.

- During my tenure at La Trobe University, the Project Manager departed. My leadership acumen drove my initiative to step up to fulfil the role of Project Manager of the Accommodation Services. In this role I gained experience in project management, as I planned and managed the refurbishment of 150 residential accommodation units. This large scale project was worth $1.5M and was delivered on time. This was a great opportunity to refine my leadership skills and develop my long-term planning and cost control experience.- I was also in charge of planning, coordinating subcontractors and completing the refurbishment of 10 student apartments to the value of $2.5M. I developed my strength of site management, managing clients and technical trade knowledge.- I also directed and supervised a team of 5 - 10 Building Maintenance Officers to deliver scheduled maintenance and repairs for the on campus accommodation facilities, which developed my administration of stakeholder management abilities.

- Provided leadership, direction and supervision to a team of 5 Building Maintenance Officers to deliver planned and unplanned maintenance for on campus accommodation facilities.
