Profile bio

About David T. Stanton, Ph.D.

As a scientist and proven innovator, I leverage my experience in both analytical and computational chemistry. I am a creative and scientifically curious researcher who is fascinated by the connection between molecular structure and the properties of molecules. My experience includes both theoretical (modeling) work and work in the experimental laboratory. This has been particularly beneficial in allowing me to assist my research colleagues integrate computational chemistry techniques and experimental design to more efficiently and effectively solve problems. What I do is collaborate with chemists and formulators to design better experiments leading to higher value data and then use that data to build computational chemistry models. These models provide mechanistic insight and predictive strength, enabling the design and identification of new compounds and the creation new formulas that achieve desired performance and stability characteristics. My projects over the past several years have provided me the opportunity to extend molecular modeling into the area of human perception of odors and flavors. My goals are to continue to develop new computational methodologies for a broad range of physicochemical, biological, and human perception properties from molecular structure, as well as continuing to develop new general computational chemistry methods and tools. These are my areas of expertise:• Computational Chemistry• Cheminformatics• Analytical Chemistry• QSAR | QSPR• Virtual Screening• Molecular Design• Statistical Data Analysis• Pharmaceutical R&D• Consumer Products R&D• Scientific Programming• Software Design• Computer Programming

Listed skills include Chemistry, Molecular Modeling, Materials Science, Protein Chemistry, and 23 others.
