Managed and technically lead a ten person development team to create FEI’s IC3D product. IC3D is a metrology application that automates several of FEI’s Wafer Dual Beam Microscopes (Scanning Electron Microscope + Focused Ion Beam) and lamella based Transmission Electron Microscopes.IC3D is the Data Storage industry standard for in-line, in-FAB, cross sectional metrology based process control. Over one hundred microscopes have been installed costing between $1.5M - $3.5M. IC3D is also used as the basic for automated TEM Sample Preparation.Invented Automated Machine Control and Metrology concept that provides a graphical workflow editor/debugger. The User creates automated workflows by linking and grouping graphical shapes, in a Visio like environment using scaled image as a backdrop, to produce automated sequences to cross-section and measure complex sub surface features, such as Semiconductor Shallow Trench Isolation (STI) structures and Data Storage read/write head structures. Graphical shapes are associated with behavioral regions for image acquisition, feature alignment, Focused Ion Beam cross-sectioning (drilling), machine vision pattern recognition and edge detection and dimensioning (metrology).
