• Architected a Kafka monitoring app using Prometheus as a data scraping tool, leveraging its advancedquerying capabilities and integration via JMX Exporter to display essential performance metrics in real-time• Utilized Tailwind CSS to speed up the development process, using its predefined classes to create a uniquestyling theme that is consistent throughout the application without having to configure custom CSS classes• Constructed Node.js/Express server to seamlessly handle HTTP requests to various endpoints in asystematic manner through the use of the middleware design pattern that allows for an understandableflow of the processing of the client’s requests• Used MongoDB to have a document-oriented database for storing data that is unique to the user, allowingfor future adjustments to the data structure and the ability to handle large volumes of data whilemaintaining readability and speed• Implemented Vitest to construct our core unit and integration testing suites, leveraging its mocking andsnapshots capabilities to improve the overall deployment confidence and performance• Employed React Hooks to manage regular data retrieval from the Prometheus server, facilitating dynamicupdates to the state of Chart.js components which displayed the live Kafka metrics, while also streamliningthe handling of the side effects of this process• Developed as an open-source product in partnership with OSLabs
