Some thirty years ago, I spent a summer as a volunteer working with children living on the rubbish dumps of Cairo. That experience, and those children changed my life! Since then, I have had extensive and varied international leadership experience in children’s rights and social justice, humanitarian operations, policy and advocacy, fundraising, leading strategy formulation and delivery, organisational development, and change, as well as senior engagement and representation.I am strategic, highly relationship focused, collaborative consensus builder and team leader. I bring 25 years in INGO senior management. I'm known for winning support for transformational change and breaking ineffective organisational practices and behaviours. And I'm deeply passionate about seeing change happen and driving the change needed to make the world better.I am passionate in bringing about real change through policy and practice, promoting human rights, and fighting all forms of discrimination. I have had the privilege of bringing about change through a variety of senior roles, such as, leading World Vision’s operations in Armenia, building and leading World Vision’s Global Office of Strategy Management to support transformation, as Director of Policy and Programmes at World Vision UK focussing on programme impact, fundraising and influence, and most recently, as Plan International’s Executive Director of Strategy and Collaboration. The last eight years with Plan International have been incredibly fulfilling, allowing me to learn and grow as a person and as a leader, develop my understanding of intersectional feminism and girls’ rights, and be part of a significant global mission that strives for social justice. It has been a privilege to lead and support transformation helping the global organisation to develop and live into its new purpose, deliver on its ambitious strategy, and become more fit for purpose and fit for the future. My approach is highly relational, building connections at all levels in order to champion causes and create a distinct and powerful voice for change both internally and externally. I seem to be able to build trust through a combination of character and competence helping organisations strengthen their brand, be more effective and efficient, and ultimately, to have greater impact.
