David Thorp Email and Phone Number
An Intellectually flexible thinker, with an MA in military history. Currently, I’m seeking to diversify my skillset and knowledge base, and am willing to work in multiple new environments. Having participated as a Graduate Teaching Assistant with two and a half years of experience I have cultivated a background working within variably paced environments. Due to the rapidly changing needs from professor to professor, I cultivated the ability to adjust to the needs of new or different leadership practices. Additionally, close work with college students helped foster considerate and timely communication skills to ensure success for each student. I’m looking forward to working on all sorts of new projects. While at APSU I studied Armored warfare and Armored development in the early 20th century, along with broader American topics. Dr. Snyder and Dr. Zieren provided me with an excellent background in European Military History and American Military involvement in the Second World War (Snyder) along with Dr. Zieren’s background in Military Economic History and WWI respectively. Both of which allowed me to pursue my interest in Armored warfare and it’s development. I’m still collecting quality reference material, along with other independent research for my own interest. Recently, I have been reflecting on my passions and interests in other areas. This has begun to push me toward Entrepreneurship, as I have identified some strategic areas where I could make an impact. I’m unsure if I wish to pursue, but will be actively reflecting on it as I progress through the coming year.

This job required good communication skills (oral and written), a general ability to simplify information into useful and helpful material.
