David started his tenure with this Microsoft Gold Partner firm as VP of Federal Sales and later evolved his role into Senior Vice President of Public Sector & Chief Strategy Officer, where he led a diverse group of talented technology executives, Program Managers and consultants-- focused primarily on the US Federal government marketplace. David successfully managed a highly profitable business unit where roughly 80% of the solution portfolio consisted of custom Agile Delivery Services engagements involving the Microsoft .NET, SharePoint, Visual Studio Team Foundation Server (TFS), Project Server, and Dynamics CRM platforms (Online, Hybrid and Private Cloud deployments).Under David's 5 year stewardship, the Public Sector business unit grew by 2000% in revenues (a CAGR of 82.06%), 2400% in # of billable consultants (a CAGR of 88.82%) while delivering profits far exceeding the industry average. David also led the Public Sector business unit's enterprise transformation to large scaled Agile Delivery methodologies, its ISO9001:2008 accreditation, and its multiple Gold/Silver Competency Level Partnership status within the Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) community- ranking the firm within the Top 2% to 5% of all Microsoft partner organizations world-wide in the delivery of critical technologies such as SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, and Office 365. David ended his tenure with this firm to pursue his passion for Agile / DevOps Coaching, Project & Portfolio Management, and Large Scaled Agile Transformation consulting services on a full-time basis as President & COO of AgileSavant, LLC.

During his 5+ years with Microsoft, David spent several years in the Microsoft Services organization as an Engagement Manager and Enterprise Services Sales Executive servicing US Federal Civilian Agency clients. While in leadership roles within Microsoft Services, David consistently managed one of the top performing Microsoft Consulting and Premier Support Services businesses within the Federal District. His tenure with Microsoft Services also further fanned the flame of David's passion for Agile Development Services frameworks and methodologies due to his exposure to the Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF) and the Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF)-- a trailblazing DevOps framework which accommodated Agile / DevOps and Waterfall approaches to solutions development and operations integration, with an emphasis on the former. David's engagements typically leveraged enterprise Scrum, RAD and Spiral Development Models. David later joined Microsoft's Enterprise Products Group (EPG) as the Account Executive to very high profile agencies such as the Executive Office of the President, the United States Congress / Capitol Hill, and the US Department of State. During his final year with Microsoft and leveraging the Microsoft Solutions Sales Process (MSSP), David became his team's top performing sales executive- attaining 304% of his sales quota, which also made him one of the top performing Account Executives for "Net New" business growth in the world for the fiscal year. David left his dream job at Microsoft to take on the new and exciting challenge of learning the ins and outs of running a small business consulting firm.

David took on a number of challenging roles at HP. The most rewarding roles were Program Manager for HP Federal's High Performance Technical Computing (HPTC) Team, as well as Technical Architect to HP's VA Account Team. He takes great pride in the work his teams accomplished that enabled the Scientific Research Community by providing HPTC solutions that delivered unprecedented parallel computing power for research, and the work accomplished towards provisioning state of the art Health IT Solutions for our Veterans.HP was a great place for David to start his career in IT sales and services delivery. His management team at HP was very supportive, service leadership oriented, and quick to throw new and excited challenges David's way. Under his HP Federal Leadership Team, David was able to grow from a Pre-Sales Technical Consultant to a Technical Architect & Program Manager-- certified as a PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) and further educated with a Masters in Business Administration (MBA).It was as a Technical Architect / Program Manager at HP that David was first exposed to Agile frameworks and methodologies such as Scrum, XP, Kanban and Rapid Prototyping-- with Kanban and Lean based concepts such as the Theory of Constraints (TOC) becoming his agile methodologies of choice at the time, due to their superiority over Waterfall's Pert and Gantt charts in the area of task / work item management. David became an avid believer / follower of the principles of Eliyahu M. Goldratt (TOC creator) while working through his MBA studies at the University of Maryland University College. Goldratt's "The Goal" and "Critical Chain" were required reading and had a profound impact on David's thoughts and approaches to product and services delivery lifecycle management at the time. Most importantly, it had a significantly positive impact on David's ability to rescue troubled projects & programs-- something he became well known for during his last years at HP.

After achieving his Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from Morgan State University, David was offered several very prestigious graduate school scholarship opportunities to pursue studies in either Astrophysics (PhD), Patent Law (JD) or Bio-Physics (MD/PhD). This was a big decision, so David took some time to think things through and decided to teach high school Physics and Chemistry during this break from academia.Teaching high school Physics and Chemistry was a very rewarding experience that afforded David the opportunity to master the presentation, teaching and training skills necessary to allow his students to master their course material. David continues to leverage these skills today as he teaches, trains and coaches individuals and teams in the areas of Program/Portfolio Management and Agile Development methodologies and frameworks.Also, as a Computer Lab Technician, David assisted in the drafting of a grant request from the Catholic University and Cisco Systems to fund two 25 seat computer labs for the students of ACHS. The grant request was granted, and David was trained in CCIE level courses by Cisco Systems in order to manage the ACHS IP network. David, in his spare time, also self-trained in order to master the management of the ACHS client / server infrastructure based on Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 Server and Windows 95. It was the above experience that led to David falling in love with Information Technology, and ultimately led to his foregoing a career in academia in preference for a 20+ year career in the IT Industry.
