I installed a central tool stores within the factory so all tooling could be located and tooling packages provided for every machine setup. This has reduced the size of the tool stores 50%. Tools are now ordered automatically directly with the suppliers once a min stock level is reached thus reducing purchasing costs. I was then responsible for setting up a shaft turning cell were the purchase of extra CNC lathes were required and I was given the task to develop a process of Dark Hour running the machines unmanned, this was done by using Robots to load and unload the shafts. Tool life was proven out exactly on these machines to ensure the Sister Tooling that was installed did not fail.
