Joining the King Group gave me my first chance to step up to store manager and also opened a new window as it was my first taste of forecourt retail. during my time in the group I have been based in their Prosperous store which was extremely fast paced convinece shopping. I loved my time in this challenging store as it was hands on retailing dealing with suppliers,staff, customers, auditors, accountants and my operations manager. In this role I overseen sales, waste,costing for wages, staffing,profit margins, ordering and seasonal planing. No day is the same in convinece shopping and this pace keeps me on my toes and challenges you to be ahead of the trends to meet the needs of our customers.I have taken control of the companies store in Ashbourne Co.Meath. This store is larger in square footage than my pervious one and brings all the same challenges. It is a passing trade/ commuter store unlike my village store history so I have had to adapt to the location and meet the needs of the people who are making their way towards Dublin. Again this role like my pervious role within the group oversees the day to day running of the store snd forecourt area. Aswell as staffing, sales profit margins etc as mentioned above in my time in Prosperous

During my time in this store I have grown into a strong member of the management team. I have packed a lot into the 3 years of employment including a best fresh food store in Ireland 2017, 2 Excellence Ireland awards for food safety, top 10 Supervalu fresh fish counters nationwide finalist and a store of the year finalist.I have grown my knowledge of margin, profit and cost control as well as an understanding of accounts management. I have overseen a successful goods inwards process with a reduction in stock loss across the last 18months. My role was to introduce a new online shopping system to the area.

Kildare Town

Kildare was the first new store opening that I was involved in. This was an amazing experience to see the development from drawings to a fully functioning retail unit. Again as in lucan I was untrusted with the stock taking of the store. I moved towards grocery/goods inwards area before a move to the fresh foods area. My key goal here was to reduce the waste in the store while keeping a high standard that was expected by our customer

Lucan, Leinster, Ireland

This was the role where I cut my teeth in retail management. I was responsible for stock counting across the store on a daily basis and had to oversee all key areas while reviewed their loss/gains daily. I lead daily short meeting with other department leaders and managers to discuss any issue and results from the previous days count. I later progressed to Grocery/warehouse team leader where I learned merchandising and best sales displays to increase sales
