Responsible for project development and management for water quality and natural resource assessments, and the development of watershed and water quality management plans for lakes, rivers and estuaries throughout the US. Have led efforts to quantify benefits of proposed hydrologic restoration projects in South and Southwest Florida, as well as coastal Louisiana and Puerto Rico. Development of water quality management plans for over 60 lakes in Central and Southwest Florida, as well as Virginia. Led efforts to quantify expected reductions in fecal indicator bacteria for a watershed restoration project being considered for San Diego County, in Southern California. Developed an empirical model to aid the City of Ventura in meeting nitrate reduction targets for protecting the Santa Clara River Estuary. In a project for the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program, recently completed a bacteria loading model for Fowl River Bay, in coastal Alabama. In a project for the Southwest Florida Water Management District, developed an empirical pollutant loading model for nitrogen, phosphorus and suspended solids for the Charlotte Harbor watershed, in Southwest Florida.

Responsible for various technical assessments and habitat restoration projects. Developed, wrote and gained administrative approval of the first and second Surface Water Improvement and Management (SWIM) plans for Sarasota Bay, and the revised SWIM plan for Charlotte Harbor.

Oversaw technical aspects of diagnostic studies of Sarasota Bay, including pollutant loading models, assessments of water quality status and trends, fish stock assessments, compilation of impacts from expected rates of sea level rise, and contaminant surveys of sediments and shellfish. Oversaw science elements of first habitat restoration projects in Sarasota Bay. Lead author of Technical Synthesis section of the Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan.
