Extensive board-level experience, both as an Executive Director (10 years) and as a Non-Executive Director (several positions over 15 years) including chairing an Audit Committee and other board sub-committees. I have driven improvement across a wide range of business aspects, spanning operational, safety and financial performance, risk management, governance and assurance controls and leveraging best practice. I have managed significant aspects of divestment processes involving staff transitions. I have over 37 years' experience in the petrochemical industry in technical and manufacturing leadership positions and industry bodies. A large part of this was in Joint Venture (or similar) settings, whereby I've developed deep expertise in stakeholder engagement, particularly in influencing, collaboration and managing mis-aligned strategies.I am now transferring my skills by building a portfolio of roles within the private, public and voluntary sectors as a Non-Executive Director on the board of a specialist NHS Foundation Trust, as consultant to improve safety leadership and culture within organisations working in high hazard environments and as a debt advisor within a charity.My Christian faith shapes who I am: including my values, ethics and leadership style.A Chartered Engineer, I am a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers and a Member of the Institute Of Directors.
