Parkegate specialised in the design, supply and modernisation of Rolling Mills and Process Lines for the aluminium and steel industries.Responsible for the engineering of specific projects. This included the supervision of other engineers and sub-contractors throughout the design and detail engineering phase. Responsible also for interface with manufacturers and suppliers as part of the design process, and also by way of inspection and expediting visits. This involved the use of Autocad 2d, PTC Creo 3d and Microsoft products, as well as in house CRM and document management products.Lead engineer in successful large upgrade projects in the UK, India, US, South Africa, China, Brazil and Europe’Notable projects:• Dolgarrog Aluminium UK – Upgrade of cold rolling mill to improve product quality. This involved full design responsibility, interface with manufacturers, and supervision of site installation.• AIB Czech Republic - Upgrade of foil rolling mill to improve product quality and throughput. This involved full design responsibility, interface with manufacturers, and supervision of site installation.• Hulamin South Africa - Upgrade of cold rolling mill to improve product quality and throughput. This involved full design responsibility, interface with manufacturers, and supervision of site installation.• Acesita Brazil - Major Upgrade of Silicon Steel processing line to increase product throughput.

Responsible for the mechanical specification for automation projects at the pre-sale stage. Responsible also for the planning and division of work within the proposals department. At the time Davy where the world leaders in rolling mills automation, and we were extremely successful in converting bids to projects.
