I helped the engineer set up videos and live radio interviews for BBC NI and Mid Western Radio. I also learned how the matrix for receiving incoming audio and video from other studio worked. As a major studio I learned how to act around important people (politicians, presenters) and how to get on with people in a very busy environment. I learned from this experience how the secret to any successful audio enterprise is planing. Inventory management is a must, before a interview the audio engineer must have a check-list of the gear he needs. Murphy's Law is hand in glove with live situations, so risk management is integral. I was shown the backup systems in place. The correct way to react to a stressful situation,act with urgency and intent and a cool demeanour.

I worked in the storeroom hanging clothes and tagging clothes. I also worked in the shop at the till and ragging the clothes. I learned how to deal calmly with difficult people and gently with older citizens.

I was responsible for staking returned books to their respective shelves. I helped patrons to find a book or to recommend a book. I also worked with children showing them how books can help them, to inspire the love of knowledge and encourage creativity.
