This included devising how feasible it was to machine the parts in house, procuring appropriate tooling & fixturing for the job whilst minimising costs, and validating the new programs on the machines before starting production.● Designing, programming, and setting up brand new parts to be machined on the lathes and the milling machine using Autodesk Inventor and HSM Works.● Collaborating with customers, fitters, and engineers to find engineering solutions in an effective and timely manner. ● Analysing processes for inefficiencies, reducing manufacturing times and costs, and improving quality.● Cooperating with other departments to manage the introduction of new processes and designs using methods such as SWOT, PFMEA, and Porter’s 5 Forces.● Creating spreadsheets to improve upon estimation methods. For example, a spreadsheet to determine the size of hose reel needed for a given amount of hose led to the successful delivery of an order worth over £30’000.
