Resourcing Account Manager - Talent Acquisition And Workforce Planning
CurrentI work as part of a small team responsible for resourcing Northumbria Police with officers, staff and volunteers throughout the force area. I responsible for workforce planning within my business areas, continually monitoring resource levels, forecasting exits and resourcing structural changes . This entails accurately identifying the operational need for officers within each area command/department, and ensuring that officers can be promoted/moved into the most business critical areas, while at all times ensuring the wider organisational picture is taken into account. To do this effectively I have to maintain and build relationships with senior stakeholders in each department, this does not only ensures that I receive the information I need to make informed resourcing decisions but enables me to advise on what is and isn’t possible in terms of their plans for their respective departments. I map out the promotion requirements at all ranks within the force, forecasting and mapping structural changes with other intelligence. I then present this to senior officers and staff within the force to provide a business plan for the promotion boards each year. This plan is then altered and adjusted to meet the force’s changing needs throughout the year. I’m also solely responsible for delivering transferee Police officer recruitment. I oversee the creation and sharing of adverts ensuring they get visibility with our target audiences. I design and administer the recruitment process delivering trained officers with various skill sets to the parts of the force that require them. This includes focusing on positive action, both to attract a diverse range of candidates and to remove any unintended bias from the recruitment process. This ensures we recruit the best person for the role and have a diverse range of staff to effectively serve our communities.
