• Perform site selection, initiation, monitoring and close-out visits in accordance with contracted scope of work and good clinical practice.• Provide monitoring visits and site management for a variety of protocols, sites and therapeutic areas.• Administer protocol and related study training to assigned sites and establish regular lines of communication with sites to manage ongoing project expectations and issues.• Evaluate the quality and integrity of study site practices related to the proper conduct of the protocol and adherence to applicable regulations.• Escalate quality issues to Clinical Lead (CL), Project Lead (PL) and/or Site and Resource Manager (SRM)• Manage the progress of assigned studies by tracking regulatory submissions and approvals, recruitment and enrollment.• Create and maintain appropriate documentation regarding site management, monitoring visit findings and action plans by submitting regular visit reports and other required study documentation.

• Complete appropriate therapeutic, protocol and clinical research training per the established Early Talent Training roadmap to perform job duties.• Gain experience in study procedures by working with experienced clinical staff in Clinical Research Associate (CRA), Clinical Research Specialist (CRS) and Clinical Trials Assist (CTA) roles. My responsibilities included: relaying interested students' information to Kaplan; promoting Kaplan at events on grounds; raising Kaplan's visibility by putting up fliers and posters; reaching out to students and giving them information about Kaplan's course offerings; assisting with Kaplan events at UVA.

I received a REU grant from the NSF for the summer of 2013 and the following school year. I worked as an independent researcher in the Biology Department at the University of Virginia under the auspices of the Antonovics Lab.

The Barrett Lab at UVA studies the ionic regulation of aldosterone secretion focusing on control by low-voltage activated T-type Ca2+ channels and two-pore domain potassium channels (TASK).My principle duties over the years are as follows:Fall 2010 – Learned tissue culture techniquesSpring 2011 – Participated in metabolic cage studies performing analysis for aldosterone and renin levels. Compiled data of global TASK-3 knockout mice on various diets.Fall 2011 – Developed expertise in immunohistochemistry, as well as tissue preparation (perfusion and tissue fixation)Spring 2012-Spring 2014: Gathered, compiled, and analyzed data from various mouse lines on various diets, drugs, etc. Investigating the effects of candesartan on wild- type and TASK channel deletion mice.Fall 2012-Spring 2013: Trained new lab member (a first year undergraduate). Throughout: Clean, maintain, and set up equipment for use in experiments. Autoclaving. Inventory and ordering. Basic cleaning around the lab.
