Point One Design, Ltd. was founded by my father, Robert Ulliman and I in 1993. In 2000 we merged with a long standing Mechanical Engineering firm located in North Royalton, Ohio formerly known as Theys Associates. Felix Theys had established his firm in 1978 and had made quite a name for himself and his firm working in both the commercial and industrial markets providing comprehensive mechanical design and consulting services.The two current offices in Columbus and the Cleveland, Ohio area are comprised of five registered professional engineers as well as a deep bench of mechanical and electrical designers. Point One Design is a full service mechanical and electrical consulting and design firm serving all of Ohio and just about every other state. Our engineers carry professional licenses in 50 states and we provide engineering services for all applications including commercial, retail, multi-family residential, healthcare residential, institutional and industrial markets. We're in our 29th year and still learning, growing and enjoying the ride!Specialties: With my education in design, interior and exterior lighting are specialties. Two past projects received lighting awards from local and international sections of the Illuminating Engineering Society. Firm specialties include residential healthcare facilities including skilled nursing, assisted living, independent living and senior housing. The Columbus market has been a hot bed for the housing market and Point One Design has had no shortage of Multi-family Housing and Mixed-Use projects that have come across the boards in the past several years. The local demographics have also been very favorable to the restaurant and brewery industry, which has allowed us to to be involved in quite a few of the latest, one-of-a-kind eateries and brewhouses that have popped up in the central Ohio area recently, including the new Budd Dairy Food Hall and the Hoof Hearted Brewery and Kitchen, to mention a couple.
