Manages and ensures appropriate performance of the Public Works Departments, including the operation and maintenance activities associated with the Municipality’s infrastructure. The infrastructure includes, but is not limited to, sewer, water, roads, bridges, sewage treatment, water treatment, waste disposal, drainage, etc. The development of tenders and the management and administration of all contracts, including operation of water and sewer plants, and projects that have a technical engineering component. Supervising consultants and contractors hired by the municipality for related projects. Preparing for the approval of the annual works program and assists the Treasurer in the preparation of the Public Works Department’s operational and capital budgets. Responsible for solid waste collection and disposal. Overseeing the maintenance of Town property and equipment including repairs and maintenance of all buildings and equipment with the exception of those buildings maintained by Parks and Recreation or Fire Departments. Recommending hiring, promotions, pay adjustments, and disciplinary action for Public Works employees in accordance with the Municipality’s policies.
