Upon being promoted to a Senior Specialist within the VG InfoSec team, I took on more of an oversight role which involved running a number of high-profile projects which lead to a significant improvement in our overall security posture. I also oversaw the rollout of our Sonatype Nexus IQ Lifecycle environment which contributed to a decrease in Open Source-related vulnerabilities in our backend code. While performing these duties, I also acted as a sounding board for other team members to bounce ideas off of. I learned to listen to ideas in full and to reply without coming across as overly critical. This was a particularly big professional growth point as I consider it to be the start of my Leadership journey.During this time I also gained experience in designing and implementing strategy in the form of multiple Standards. Each of these Standards would govern how certain technology implementations would be performed, or how data was to be used in the environment.

I fulfilled the role of the first full-time, permanent Information Security Specialist (ISS) within the Vitality Group (VG) InfoSec team. My job in this role was to help secure the VG environment and applications by implementing vulnerability testing strategies and overseeing the vulnerability management programme. Furthermore, I was the key contact for any information security incidents, which helped to increase my knowledge and skills around Threat Hunting, Incident Management and Response and Crisis management. I used the exposure to multiple tools, such as Elastic, Splunk, Sonatype Nexus IQ, Jenkins and others to increase my overall knowledge and understanding of security within the development lifecycle, while also improving my overall knowledge and comfort with using the aforementioned tooling.In the time that I spent fulfilling this role, I had grown exceptionally in both personal and professional aspects

Information security consultant specialising in network and Windows Active Directory security.

Aiding lecturers by designing and delivering practicals to students in 2nd and 3rd year of the Electrical Electronic and Computer engineering department. Initially I was an assistant to the module ELI 220 in 2014. The requirement was to help with the administration of class tests, as well as everything related to the practical component of the module. In 2015 and 2016 I was assigned to the modules EMS 310 and ESC 320 where I once again took on the practical component of each module.

Worked as a student engineer. This involved working with some of the existing team members to learn what their jobs entailed. Also had to write reports based on the work done by the team.
