Joined the USMC as an information systems specialist where I build servers on VMware for our email and solar winds software etc. I mostly focused on learning networking where I helped to build networks using EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP. I learned how to setup tunnels for our taclanes and helped to manage numerous networks. I was given an award for all the work I did while deployed in bringing up networks in different areas of Afghanistan as a lance corporal. From there I have had a few jobs maintaining smaller information systems for restaurants and such and also went to school. In college I obtained a computer network administration Cisco associates degree and a Helpdesk certification both with honors. I moved back to Wilmington two years ago and started working at liberty healthcare management. I started in the service desk to get a foot in the door and within a little over a month my talents were recognized and I was given the opportunity to move into a higher role as a computer systems specialist where I managed the level 2 portion of 20 sites and maintain the customer support and hardware support that is required. Some weekly things required were maintaining inventory, researching and ordering new devices, installing hardware and software, retiring devices that are end of life, creating standard operating procedures for new tasks that are given, installing peripheral’s, and repairing devices etc. I now work for American chrome and chemical as an information system specialist and work with the network and systems teams. I am looking to advance my career further and continue to learn more every day.
