I’ve been a board certified internal medicine physician for over 10 years. Through those years I have also practiced hospice care, formerly owning a hospice organization with my two siblings. I have a passion for leadership to improve culture and quality of care delivery while also capitalizing on financial opportunities. My current leadership position is adult hospitalist director of butler and clarion hospitals. I still work clinically to see the issues first hand. I enjoy refining policy/processes and structuring work efficiencies. I am highly involved with data creation/collection to guide meaningful change. I have a strong understanding of hospital systems and payment models. Healthcare payment models are changing at a rapid pace and I take pride in strategic planning to assure the system thrives (not only survives). This strategy cannot sacrifice patient care or physician experience which is the foundation for good quality and a culture that retains the staff at bedside. I am extremely action oriented and work well with others to accomplish a common goal. I work with a sense of urgency and efficiency while not sacrificing quality. My philosophy for good leadership is good communication. This involves transparency, responsiveness, respect and above all else listening.
