In this role I am currently responsible for leading, inspiring, motivating and developing a team of Auditors and Surveyors. The main objective of my role is problem identification within the Commercial and Business book, ensuring that exposures are properly monitored and controlled so that bad debts are minimised and that new business opportunities are maximised within the risk appetite of the business.To do this effectively I work closely with the Business Development Managers, Relationship Mangers and other areas of PRM to minimise bad debt provisions through understanding credit stewardship principles and early identification of potential risk to security by analysing trends, identifying early warning signs and making appropriate recommendations to Clients and the Relationship Team. Managing our resource effectively and efficiently is key, prioritising audits according to risk profile and managing the audit requirement proactively ensures that we are completing focused audits that add value by concentrating on finding, understanding and resolving client issues. I took this role on as a secondment in January and have made a number of positive changes to the way we operate. I was officially appointed into this role on 7th November.

In this role I am responsible for managing high workload cases which include complex, distressed or high risk businesses, or cases where fraudulent activity has been a feature. My main objective is to achieve the best outcome by minimising bad and doubtful debt provisions. Ideally this will involve working closely with the customer finding solutions to allow them to return to ‘good book’. I also provide consultancy support to the front office client relations and new business teams. I enjoy working within the relationship management environment as no 2 days are the same. I have had the opportunity to network and build up contacts from across the Invoice Finance industry, including external accountancy and legal firms, other Invoice Finance businesses and work closely with product partners and divisions across the RBS Group.
